E, hey...a coachman greeted a day
and he unlocked the Sun with his song
tar is my ducat on mypalm
and it shines on the torch of a pine kindling wood...
by Mihailo Cupovic
...It's been like this for ages...
As there used to be caravans of salt, silk, so there caravans of pine kindling
wood and tarexisted, and there all used to start from Zlatibor and Mokra Gora
and were leading to the East, North or to the South.
The tar makers pulled life out of pine tree roots. And pine tree meant life to
people of Mokra Gora.
They built their houses and cottages of it, they made their oxen carts and
craddles, their doorstep and their coffin out of pine tree, they used it as
kindling wood as well, and tar which nowadays only they produce in the whole
Uzice region in the old and in a modern way.
When they pile pine kindling wood intro the special place for making tar and when all preparations are finished, the tar makers bring a match close and they
burn theirdifficulty and their day and night work.
And the flame swallows it all, and behind it there remain the tar, charcoal, terpentine, tar water and...money.
Tar is a remedy as well as an industrian product and "till the money begins flowing from it, love is going on."

--
Here in Mokra Gora, a traditional place of tar making, beside tar makers,
coachman and peasants jackets, workers blue jackets appeared 50 years ago
...Kotroman, a factory of chemical products, that raised Mokra Gora, started.
It built houses, block of flats, roads, bridges, brought electricity, improved
life and assured future of the village.
The factory is always here when help is needed, when people build, celebrate,
work, when they are heppy, sed and mourn.
Kotroman is a modern factory keeping on tradition, and it lives with people
of Mokra Gora as well as they live with it.

The products of Kotroman, and there is a long list of them, from sadoline to
corsantine, from paints and lacquers to turpentine and paints, have circled the
world which also in this way recognizes Mokra Gora.
