Primary school "Sava Kerkoviæ"




The first letters in Mokra Gora started beeing learnt in 1872 in a school which had been built at the very state border near the quarantine and the river Beli Rzav. Very soon, in 1876 it was burnt down by the Turkes. 

The first Mokra Gora teacher was Milija Beslic. 

    





People of Mokra Gora built another school, which lasted for some time and when it became too small they built a new one in 1884 in Markovo polje, where it still exists.

The school got its name by Savo Kerkovic, the teacher, born and grown up in Mokra Gora.
